8.2. Working with Custom Fields

8.2.1. Tabs

Tabs Listings screen


Fields:

Tab Name – displays the name of tags

Tab Database Name – displays the database name of tags

Show at Front – displays the status if the tab is showed on front end or not


Filter:

By Tab Name

By Tab Database Name

Actions:

(1) New – creates a new tab

(2) Edit – chooses a tab by checking the checkbox and then edits the tab

(3) Delete – chooses some tab by checking the checkboxes and then removes them

(4) Publish – Makes the tabs available to be used

(5) Unpublish – Make the tabs to be not available to be used

Tabs Details screen

Fields:

Tab Database Name

Tab Name – fills out the name of the tab, admin can choose this name

User Groups Assinged to the Tab – choose user groups who can use the tab

Tab CSS Class

Show at Front – chooses to show the tab on front end or not. There are 2 options: Yes, No

Publish – There are 2 options: Yes, No

Actions:

(1) Save – saves any changes made

(2) Save & Close – saves any changes made and redirects to Tabs Listings screen

(3) Cancel – redirects to Tabs Listings screen without saving any changes

8.2.2. Fields

Fields Listings screen


Fields:

Field Label(s) – displays the label of the field

Field Database Name – shows the database name of the field

Field Type – displays the type of field

Altered at One Time –

Filter:

By Field Label(s)

By Field Database Name

By Field Type


Actions:

(1) New – creates new field

(2) Edit – chooses the current field by checking on checkbox and then admin can edit the field

(3) Delete - chooses the current fields by checking on checkboxes and then admin can delete the fields

(4) Publish – chooses the current fields by checking on checkboxes and then make them to be available on frontend

(5) Unpublish – chooses the current fields by checking on checkboxes and then make them to be not available on frontend

(6) Require – chooses the current fields by checking on checkboxes and make them to be required fields

(7) Optional – chooses the current fields by checking on checkboxes and make them to be optional fields

Fields Details screen

Fields:

Field Type – lets admin select field type

Entity Type

Field Database Name – selects the database name

Field Label – fills out label of the field.

Tab Name – selects the tab which the field belongs to

Field Class – selects CSS class name for the field

Maximum Length – sets the maximum length of the text field. This is the length of a string that users input

Size – enters the size of the text field or multiple select box. It depends on selected field type

Columns – enters the number of columns, this is only used for the textarea field type

Rows – enters the number of rows, this is only used for the textarea field type.

Language – chooses the language to input into the field

Required – set the field to be required or not by choosing one of two options: Yes, No

Altered at One Time:

Publish – sets the field to be available to be used or not, by choosing one of the two options: Yes, No

Description – Enters the description of the field


Actions:

(1) Save – saves any changes made

(2) Save & Close – saves any changes made and redirects to fields listings screen

(3) Cancel – Redirects to fields listings screen without saving any changes
