Configuration of Discounts + Coupos + Vouchers

In the configuration screen you will find this select:

Redshop1 discount configuration.png

Discount/voucher/coupon: Straightforward either/or. Only one of the three will get accepted. Discount + voucher/coupon: A discount plus either a coupon or a voucher will get accepted. Discount + voucher + coupon: A discount, only a single voucher code and only a single coupon code will get accepted. Discount + voucher (multiple) + coupon (multiple): And finally this option. A discount, and multiple voucher and coupon codes (that can each only be used once)

Difference between coupons and vouchers

Coupons and vouchers work in a similar fashion:

However they differ in who and what they are intended for.

Coupons are user-based, meaning you can make a promotion that can only be used and accessible by specific customers. Vouchers are product-based, allowing you to set up promotions for specific products that can only take effect when the customer has used voucher code.

Where each can be used

Customers can apply coupon and voucher codes from within the cart page, in the section of the page with the space to enter the gift code and the submit button next to it. After the code has been typed in and the customer clicks on the submit button, the cart view will refresh and update any prices that are affected by the promotion as well as display the coupon or voucher code and a brief description of the effect it has had.

For redSHOP to accept and apply coupons and vouchers, they must be enabled in the price tab of the global configuration screen. In addition, redSHOP can be configured to accept discounts, coupons, vouchers or a combination of the three when placing an order, as well as whether multiple promotional codes can be used on a single order.
