Jump to: navigation, search

While the "Configuration Wizard" allows the admin to set up the shop at its most basic level, the full degree of control within redSHOP lies in its "Global Configuration" section. Spread out over 11 tabs, there are a wide range of settings available that control different aspect of the shop, including more general settings, further control over user accounts, prices and taxes, advanced controls pertaining to products and categories and the cart and checkout process, features controlling layout and images display, configuring various integrations with accounting and analytics services, and general site-wide SEO parameters. There are also several reporting / overview modules which can be displayed in the Main Menu's Quick Links section that can be activated in the Dashboard tab, and finally the About tab displays several details regarding the current server configuration as well as which of redSHOP's various extensions are installed and whether they're enabled or not.

The Global Configuration section can be accessed from two areas:

Users

This section covers more configuration settings regarding how the store handles customer account registrations and the messages that should be displayed to customers when they're logged in. There are also additional controls regarding shopper groups, and in particular if the store should be set up as a "portal shop". The controls are grouped together into two sections: "Registration" and "Shopper Groups".

RedSHOP - Configuration Details - User Tab.png

Registration

Registration Method - Selects the way the store deals with account registrations when guests or customers without accounts proceed with the checkout process to complete their orders. While there are essential details required during the checkout process to monitor and track orders, the customer does not necessarily need to create an account to checkout. This is referred to as a "Guest checkout". However, there are benefits to creating an account, including being able to more easily make orders and track them in future. The store administrator can choose from four behaviours:

Create New User upon Registration Default -
Available options: Yes, No

Show Captcha on Registration - Sets whether redSHOP will display a CAPTCHA verification box on the registration form that must be correctly filled in before the registration process can continue. A CAPTCHA field is useful when the shop administrator wants to prevent, or at least minimize, the number of automated / spam account registrations by requiring the customer creating the account to correctly enter the words or phrases generated by the CAPTCHA frame into the CAPTCHA field to verify the person creating the account is a "human being".
Available options: Yes, No

Email verification - Sets whether the customer must verify their account registration before redSHOP will allow them to log in and continue with the checkout process (or any other section that requires the customer be logged in). An email will be sent to the customer after they register for an account, and the activation link within that email must be clicked to confirm their intent to register and complete the account registration process.
Available options: Yes, No

New customer preselected - Sets whether redSHOP will display the "New Customer" registration form panel first whenever a customer enters the checkout process as a guest or when they're not logged in. There are two panels that can appear on redSHOP's Account Login / Registration page in the initial stages of the checkout process: one for existing users to log in, and another to offer users the ability to register for accounts. By default, the "Account Login" panel is displayed first, this option allows the shop administrator to force the second panel displayed first.
Available options: Yes, No

Terms And Conditions - Allows the shop administrator to select the Joomla! article that contains the online store's "Terms and Conditions".

Who Can Register - Sets the type of customers that redSHOP can create accounts for, and the default shopper group into which new customers will be assigned. The shop administrator can specify whether only "Private" or "Company" customers can register for accounts, in which case the registration form with the appropriate details will appear, or if "Both" types of customer can register for accounts, in which case there will be separate "Private customer" and "Company customer" registration forms available that the customer can select via the radio buttons that appear labelled accordingly.
Available options: Private Customers, Company Customers, Both

Default Customer Type - When the setting for "Who can Register" has been set to "Both", this sets which of the two customer type registration forms will be pre-selected and be displayed first. This setting should reflect the main type of customer that the shop deals with, as this conveniently displays the most relevant registration form first accordingly.

"My Page" Welcome Text - Sets the message that will be displayed on the customer's "My Page" account page. redSHOP offers customers who have accounts a page from where they can access further details and options pertaining to their accounts, such as previous and current orders and quotations, tags and more. This page is accessible through the "Account Layout" menu item, and the message entered here for this "Welcome Text" will be displayed at the top of this "Account Layout" page.

Introtext for Private Customers - Sets the message that will be displayed to customers who selected the "Private" radio button when creating their account during the checkout "registration" process. This message will appear when..............

Introtext for Company Customers - Sets the message that will be displayed to customers who selected the "Company" radio button when creating their account during the checkout "registration" process. This message will appear when..............

Shopper Groups

Portal Shop - Sets whether redSHOP should act as a "Portal Shop", which will only allow access to customers that are logged in and only allow access to those areas of the shop that have been designated accessible to the customer's shopper group. Designed for situations where the online store caters for different customers and different markets, enabling this feature will force redSHOP to consider the access levels defined in the customer's shopper group settings and, in conjunction with the shopper group related modules, display only the categories and products available to that shopper group. As each customer / shopper group will have access to different areas, redSHOP will dynamically modify the online store and related modules for each customer, so multiple customers from multiple groups can be logged into the same store but only have access to specific sections defined by the shop administrator. More information about shopper group access levels is available in redSHOP's Shopper Group section.
Available options: Yes, No

In order to upload the logo, the image must be selected and either the "Apply" or "Save" buttons on the top-right hand of the "Global Configuration" screen must be clicked on. More information about shopper group logos is available in redSHOP's Shopper Group section.

The shop administrator can select from the list of available shopper groups in the "Company customer" category, as well as those in the "Tax Exempt customer" category, in the event that there are tax-exempt shopper groups which the administrator would care to assign customers to by default. More information is available in the Shopper Group section.

Select Shopper Group for Unregistered Users - Sets the shopper group rules which will apply to guests and unregistered users. The shop administrator can select from the list of available shopper groups. More information is available in the Shopper Group section.

A New Shopper Group will inherit value from - Sets the shopper group (and all its configured settings) that will be used as a template when creating new shopper groups in the back-end. It is recommended that the administrator modify this path, if need be, prior to uploading the files for those downloadable products, as modifying this path after files have already been uploaded can make the paths to previous uploads invalid, in which case the administrator would have to manually move all related files to the new location.

Max. Characters for Related Product Description - The maximum number of characters that are displayed for the "Accessory Product Description" text on product details pages within the product catalog on the front end. Accessory Product description end suffix - The suffix that is appended to the "Accessory Product Description" text when the character limit set by the "Max. Characters for Related Product Description" has been reached. Setting this value as ..., for example, will display the accessory product's title, the length defined by the above setting, followed by "..." to imply there is more text available that cannot be displayed at the moment. Related Products

Related Product Settings

Two-way related product - When this has been set to "Yes", any product assigned as related to another will appear on the related product's details page as well as the original product's details page. To illustrate this, redSHOP's normal behavior in regards to related products is to display Product A and the related Product B on Product A's page, but visiting Product B's details page will not indicate that it is related to Product A. Setting this option to "Yes" will ensure that Product A will appear on Product B's page as well.
Available options: No, Yes

Child Product Dropdown Output - Sets whether any "child products" assigned to a "parent" product will be displayed as and referred to by their product name or product number within the dropdown select box that appears on the product details page.
Available options: Product Name, Product Number

Parent Product should be purchasable(if any child product is added) - Sets whether it is possible for customers to add "parent" products to the cart if any of the "child products" have been added to the cart as well. Normally, child products are considered "variations" of the main product, and therefore adding a child product to the cart is like adding a variation of the main product, which normally means you cannot add that main product to the cart without selecting one of its variations. Setting this option to "Yes" will allow customers to add both the main product and any of its child product variations.
Available options: No, Yes

Default sorting of related products - The default order in which related products are sorted and displayed on the product details pages within the product catalog on the front end. The customer can modify this ordering to their preference when the "Product Sort Order" dropdown selection box is available on the product details page, however the shop administrator can set the initial / default sorting according to:

Related Product Short Description Max Characters - The maximum number of characters that are displayed for the "Related Product Short Description" text on product details pages within the product catalog on the front end. This feature should be used in conjunction with the "Related Product Short Description Suffix" setting that offers the shop administrator the opportunity to append a symbol or other character to indicate to the customer that there is more to the description than is currently being displayed.

Related Product Short Description Suffix - The suffix that is appended to the "Related Product Short Description" text when the character limit set by the "Related Product Short Description Max Characters" has been reached. Setting this value as ..., for example, will display the related product's short description, the length defined by the above setting, followed by "..." to imply there is more text available that cannot be displayed at the moment. This is useful for when the shop administrator has limited space on the web page for the complete title to be displayed, while letting the customer know that there is more text to the short description available.

Related Product Title Max. Characters - The maximum number of characters that are displayed for the "Related Product Title" text on product details pages within the product catalog on the front end. Customers can compare their products (the number of which can be compared limited by this value) by either using the "Compare" link available within the product catalog via template tag or using redSHOP's Product Compare module. This feature requires that "Enable Product Comparison" be set to "Yes" in order for customers to add products for comparison. More information on how the "Product Comparison" feature works is available in ..................

Product Comparison Template - The default template that should be used to display product details side by side when a customer has added products for comparison and accesses the "Product Comparison" view. The shop administrator can select from the available list of templates in the Templates section belonging to the "Compare Product" section type. This is to allow for comparison templates that are specific to the products within those categories, such as one template for comparing camera and another template for comparing garden tools. If "Category" is selected, the default template selected in the Global Config "Product Comparison Template" will be used for display comparisons, unless the category has been assigned a specific template, in which case that template will be used for displaying comparisons of products within that category. Stockroom

Set Stock as Infinite - Sets whether blank values for stock levels will be treated as "unlimited supply" values. When this feature is set to "No", blank values are considered by redSHOP as the same as a value of "zero", meaning no stock is available. However setting this feature to "Yes" will treat values of "zero" as no stock available while blank values (empty field) will be considered as infinite or unlimited supply.
Available options: Yes, No

Default Stockroom - The default stockroom from which redSHOP should check for and compare stock levels of products being sold in the online store. The shop administrator can select from a list of available stockrooms in the "Stockroom" section, however this feature, and the ability to add and manage stockrooms and stock levels, is dependent on "Use Stockroom" being set to "Yes".

Price

This section covers more configuration settings regarding configuring price-related details, including the main currency displayed, tax-related and country-dependent details, as well as any types of discounts the shop administrator wishes to offer their customers. The controls are grouped together into four sections: "Price", "VAT / Tax", "Discounts" and "Discount Mail".

RedSHOP - Configuration Details - Price.png

Main Price Settings

Currency - Sets the main currency the shop will operate with and display prices according to. The currency selected here will be used as the "base" currency when making price conversions using redSHOP's Currency module for customers who prefer paying in their own native currency. There are 124 currencies listed to choose from, but note that redSHOP's Currency module only supports conversion between 28 currencies. More information in the Currencies section.

Currency Symbol - Sets the symbol that will be used to represent the main currency selected for the store. While this normally is represented as a literal symbol (such as the dollar's $), there is an opportunity to modify the output here to read something else (such as USD in the dollar's case).

Currency Symbol Position - Sets the position of the currency symbol in relation to the price. By default, redSHOP is configured to display this symbol on the left-hand side of whatever prices are displayed on both front and back ends, however the shop administrator can move the location to the right-hand side, or omit displaying the symbol entirely.
Available options: Front, Behind, None

Decimal Separator - Sets the punctuation mark that represents the decimal marker in prices. Customers in some countries expect the decimal marker to be represented by a comma (,), while others are used to marking them with a period (.). The shop administrator should decide which marker is more appropriate for the store's main market audience.

Thousand Separator - Similar to the Decimal Separator, this represents the marker indicating thousands. Customers in some countries are used to a period marking thousands (such as 1.000.000,00) while others expect a comma to mark them (such as 1,000,000.00). The shop administrator should decide which marker is appropriate for the store's main market audience.

Number of Price Decimals - Sets the number of decimal places that prices are stored and displayed in. Setting the number 3, for example, will display a price to 3 decimal places (such as 9.995).

Number of Price Round - Sets the number of decimal places that are used to round prices up. A value of 4, for example, will tell redSHOP to round prices up or down according to the value of the fifth digit in the price.

Use Tax Exempt - Sets whether redSHOP shall offer "tax-exemptions" to customers and display tax-exempt prices on the front and back end. Any features that are related to tax exemptions (such as configuration settings, shopper group settings, and sections and modules where prices are displayed) are dependent on this feature being set to "Yes" in order to work as expected.
Available options: Yes, No

Show Tax Exempt in Front - Sets whether tax-exempt prices shall be displayed to the customers on the front end.
Available options: Yes, No

Apply VAT for Tax Exempt - Sets whether VAT / tax will be applied to customers who have been assigned to a "tax-exempt" shopper group.
Available options: Yes, No

Remove Add to Cart from front (use as catalog) - Sets whether the online store should act in "Catalog Mode", where the "Add-to-cart" button is hidden on all product catalog pages and within product-related modules. This feature allows shop administrators to feature their product catalog for customers to view but removes the ability to make any purchases.
Available options: Yes, No

Show Price - Sets whether prices will be displayed to customers on the front end. This affects all areas within redSHOP where prices are displayed, such as on product catalog pages and product-related modules. Prices will also be hidden in the cart and checkout process when this setting is enabled. This feature is useful as an addition to the "Remove Add to Cart from front (use as catalog" feature.
Available options: Yes, No

VAT / Tax

Default Country - Selects the country that the physical store which the online store is representing is located in. As different countries have different tax rates, it is important to set the appropriate country here so the correct tax rates can be applied.

Default State - Once the Default Country above has been selected, this field will update to reflect the states that exist in that country, as listed in redSHOP's location database. Once again, the appropriate state should be selected so correct tax rates can be applied.

Default VAT Group - Sets the default tax / VAT group that redSHOP should use to calculate base taxes on prices throughout the online store. These VAT / tax groups contain any tax rates that the shop administrator has made applicable to specific countries and states, and different tax groups can be made to account for different tax rates based on specific situations. The shop administrator can select from the list of available VAT groups in the "VAT Groups" section. More information is available in redSHOP's "Taxes" section.

Default VAT Calculation based on - Sets the method in which redSHOP calculates the default amount of tax that is displayed throughout the shop. The shop administrator can select between:

Coupons / Vouchers

Allowed combinations of discounts - Sets what combination of discounts, coupons and vouchers are allowed to be applied to orders upon checkout. Each can be applied on a one-time individual basis, restricted to using only one type at a time, or applied multiple times (such as redeeming multiple coupons in one order). The options available include:

The duration and number of times each voucher and coupon can be used will depend on each one's settings respectively. More information is available in the Discounts and Promotions section.

Enable Coupons - Sets whether coupons are available for usage throughout the store. Coupons consist of coupon codes that can be entered during checkout to take advantage of reduced price offers on whole orders. Coupons are assigned to customers, in general or to specific customers, and have controls to set durations of validity and number of uses.
Available options: No, Yes

Enable Vouchers - Sets whether vouchers are available for usage throughout the store. Vouchers are similar to Coupons in that they consist of voucher codes that can be entered during checkout to take advantage of reduced price offers on products within orders. Unlike coupons however, vouchers are assigned to products, in general or to specific products, and have controls to set durations of validity and number of uses.
Available options: No, Yes

Available options: No, Yes

No of days for mail 1 After Purchase - The number of days after a customer has completed their purchase before they receive their first discount mail. The template for this first email can be found in the Mail Center, labelled "First mail after order purchased".

No of days for mail 2 After Purchase - The number of days after a customer has completed their purchase before they receive their second discount mail. The template for this second email can be found in the Mail Center, labelled "Second mail after order purchased".

No of days for mail 3 After Purchase - The number of days after a customer has completed their purchase before they receive their third discount mail. The template for this third email can be found in the Mail Center, labelled "Third mail after order purchased".

VAT after discount - Sets the VAT / tax rate to be applied after the discount has been included in the order price calculations. A tax rate of 16%, for example, would be stored as a value of 0.16 (as redSHOP will factor this value into the tax calculations). Setting a value of 16 will imply to redSHOP a tax rate of 1600%, so bear this value in mind.

Coupon Validity in Days - Sets the number of days after the first discount mail has been sent before the coupon offered in the mail expires.

Calculate shipping based on - Sets whether redSHOP will calculate shipping rates based on the total or sub-total price of the order in checkout. Some stores prefer to calculate the cost of shipping based on the sub-total of the order (the sum of the products in the order) while other stores prefer to calculate based on the total of the order (the sum of all the costs the order involves, including taxes and discounts). This option is up to the shop administrator's discretion.
Available options: Total, Subtotal

Value of discount coupon is percentage or total - Sets whether the value of the discount coupon sent in the mail refers to a lump sum discount or a percentage value that is applied to the customer's next order.
Available options: Total, Percentage

Amount - The value of the coupon being sent in the discount mail. This value is offered as a "total" / lump-sum discount or as a percentage off the next purchase based on the value set for the above "Value of discount coupon is percentage or total" setting.

These include enabling support for Containers and Stockrooms, setting how orders affect stock levels (if this feature is used), enabling support for Quotations, and toggling the need for Shipping Methods (not necessary for stores selling purely digital content), among others.

RedSHOP - Configuration Details - Cart Checkout tab.png

Add to cart Settings

Individual add to cart button - Sets the method in which customers can add products with various attributes to the cart. By default, redSHOP is configured to display one "Add to cart" button per product, and the customer selects an attribute from the ones listed before clicking on that button to add the configured product to the cart. The alternative method would be to display "Add to cart" buttons for each individual product attribute listed, which can add "clutter" to the product details page but at the same time make it easier for customers to add products with specific attributes to the cart. As since this setting affects all products throughout the online store, the shop administrator should pick the option most suitable for their main market.
Available options: Add to cart per product, Add to cart per attribute

Allow Pre-order - Sets whether customers have the ability to "pre-order" products, meaning add them to cart and proceed through checkout despite the product being out of stock. This feature is dependent on "Use Stockroom" being set to "Yes", as this feature relies on "virtual stock" that is not physically present yet and the "Stockroom" feature caters for that. When this feature is enabled, the shop administrator sets a date for which the stock for pre-ordered products will arrive, and this will be the date that redSHOP refers to when current stock is finished and "virtual stock" should be taken from when customers place orders. (redSHOP looks at the date and stock levels, among other factors, when considering whether to allow customers to purchase specific products.)

There are several areas involved with the "Pre-order" feature, including within the product details (Stockroom tab), stockrooms and orders placed (including the "Orders" section in the back end). More information is available in the Order Management section.
Available options: Yes, No

Quotation mode - Sets whether redSHOP's "Quotation Mode" feature should be enabled and accessible. (Details to follow) More information is available in the Quotation Management section.
Available options: On, Off

Enable Add to Cart lightbox (Ajax) - Sets whether to display the AJAX Cart pop-up window in a lightbox, as oppose to the standard behavior where the AJAX Cart window appears overlaying the page content. This is a purely cosmetic feature, however setting it to "Yes" to use the lightbox will make the AJAX Cart window easier to see for certain customers.
Available options: Yes, No

Ajax Cart Display Time - The length of time, measured in milliseconds, that the AJAX Cart pop-up window is displayed before it "fades" and disappears. This AJAX Cart pop-up window appears when "AJAX Cart" has been enabled and a customer has clicked on a product's "Add to Cart" button. Setting a value of "3000" will mean the AJAX Cart pop-up window will disappear 3 seconds after it has appeared, a value of "15000" will mean 15 seconds of display, and so on. A value of "0" will display the AJAX Cart pop-up window and it will only disappear when the customer has clicked on either the "Continue Shopping" or "Proceed to Checkout" buttons that appear within the window. The shop administrator can modify the look and content of this AJAX Cart window by modifying the "AJAX Cart Box" template in redSHOP's Template section.

Cart timeout in minutes - The length of time (measured in minutes) after a customer has become "inactive" that the cart will keep the customer's cart contents stored before emptying the cart. A value of 20, for example, will instruct redSHOP to store the contents of the customer's cart until the customer has left the site or has otherwise been "inactive" on the site for a period of 20 minutes. The shop administrator should set this to their preference, in particular for situations requiring "added site security".

Default Cart/Checkout Itemid - The default ItemID used by the cart template and checkout process that the shop administrator can take advantage of to assign modules and other ItemID-related features to the cart and checkout templates. Whenever a menu item link has been created in Joomla!, it is assigned a menu item ID which is used to refer to the page that the menu item link is linking to, in particular that specific menu item used to link to that page. As redSHOP's internal URL links are generated dynamically and do not have ItemIDs assigned to them, unless a menu item link is created for that redSHOP page. This makes it very difficult to assign modules to those pages, as those links have no ItemID attached for reference. This feature allows the shop administrator to specify an ItemID for the cart and checkout process to use as referral, thereby allowing modules to be assigned to the cart and checkout process templates. This feature is referred to as the "Default ItemID" because it is also possible to redirect customers in specific shopper groups to cart and checkout templates using different ItemIDs, making it possible to customize the cart and checkout process for each individual shopper group. More information on setting up shopper-group specific ItemIDs is available in the "Shopper Groups" section.

Pre order Button tooltip - The message that appears when a customer lands on a product page for a product that is out of stock but indicates the item is available for "pre-order". redSHOP comes with a default tooltip message pre-installed ("Product Will Be available on {availability_date}"), designed to indicate the availability date of the product to the customer, but the shop administrator can modify this tooltip message at any time, with the ability to use certain template tags within the content of the message.

Add to cart button leads - Sets the redirection behavior of the "Add to Cart" button when the customer has clicked on it. The shop administrator can select between having the customer redirected to the cart upon clicking the "Add to Cart" button and having them redirected to the same page from which they added the product to the cart.
Available options: Directly to cart, Back to current view

Cart Settings

Show Shipping in Cart - Sets whether costs of shipping are displayed in the cart template. By default this is set to "Yes" as most online stores selling physical goods should display the costs of shipping to the customer, however in cases where shipment details are not required and shipping rates do not apply, such as in the case of online stores that sell virtual or digital goods and services, this option should be set to "No".
Available options: Yes, No

Attribute images in cart - Sets whether to display product attribute images in the cart template. By default, redSHOP is configured to display the main image of the product added to cart, even if a specific attribute has been selected. The attribute selected is mentioned in the details related to the product in the cart, however setting this option to "Yes" will also display the image of the product attribute, assuming there is an image assigned to the selected attribute.
Available options: Yes, No

Enable Accessory as individual product in cart - Sets whether accessory products should be displayed in the cart as separate products from the one they are associated to. By default, whenever a product has accessory products associated to it, and the customer selects at least one of the accessory products to be added along with the main product itself, the accessory product will appear as part of the details pertaining to the main product (of course the value of the accessory factoring into the price of the product). When this feature has been set to "Yes", accessory products will appear in the cart (and in order details) as separate products. One such benefit of this feature is allowing the customer to modify the quantities of the accessory products, something that cannot be done when this has been set to "No", however the relationship between the main and accessory product is "lost" with respect to the cart and order details. The shop administrator should set this appropriately.
Available options: Yes, No

Quantity change in cart - Sets whether the customer should be able to modify the quantity of each item in the cart by modifying the quantity number in the cart's "Quantity" field. It is recommended that this setting is kept at "Yes", while setting this to "No" will remove the quantity field (even if the tags for it are present in the cart template) and leave only the "quantity arrows" to adjust quantities of products in the cart.
Available options: Yes, No

Quantity Max Characters - The maximum number of digits that quantities consist of. Setting this value to 3, for example, will allow quantities of up to "999".

Default product quantities - The ranges of quantity that can be defined for all products when offering customers the ability to conveniently add more than one of a product at a time. The shop administrator would enter in the quantity values separated by commas, which will result in a "quantity dropdown box" being displayed on the front end product details page (given the right template tag) listed the quantities customers can select from. For example, entering the values "1, 5, 10, 20" in this field will result in the quantity dropdown box offering preset quantity selections of 1, 5, 10 and 20.

Link Continue Shopping - The URL link that the shop administrator would like the customer to be redirected to when they click on the "Continue Shopping" button in either the AJAX Cart pop-up window or the cart template. By default the field is left blank, which leaves the default behaviour of the "Continue Shopping" button that redirects the customers back to the main top-level category page (i.e redSHOP's main "Frontpage Category" template).

Minimum Order Total - The minimum order total that the products in the order need to amount to before the customer will be allowed to proceed through the checkout process. This feature is useful when the shop administrator wishes to enforce a minimum amount that customers need to order to make purchases, such as ............. . This amount is relative to the main currency being used by the online store (the currency selected for the "Currency" setting), meaning the amount will change and be converted accordingly if the customer chooses to view the product catalog and/or make the order payment in a different currency.

Payment

Payment Calculation based on - (Details to follow)
Available options: Total, Subtotal

First Invoice Number - The number that redSHOP uses as the first numerical value when generating an invoice number. For example, setting this to "1520000" will tell redSHOP to generate the first invoice number as 1520000 and every invoice after that adding a number to this base number, to generate the example 1520001 and 1520002 accordingly.

Shipping

Shipping Same As Billing Checked - Sets whether the checkbox marking the "Shipping Address same as Billing Address" during the checkout process should be pre-checked. By default this checkbox is left unchecked and up to the customer to select in the event that the address they want to ship the order to is the same as the billing address they provided, in which case the Billing Address details will be copied to the "Shipping Address" details. Setting this option to "Yes" will have the checkbox pre-checked when the customer is going through the checkout process, meaning the Billing Address details will have already been copied into the Shipping Address details section, and the customer will then have to uncheck this checkbox and fill in Shipping Details manually if the addresses are not the same. The shop administrator should configure this accordingly.
Available options: Yes, No

Enable Shipping Method - Sets whether the checkout process will requires shipping methods and shipping details be taken from the customer in order to complete the order. By default, redSHOP sets this option to "Yes" as most online stores selling physical goods require shipment details to be taken down (such as preferred method of shipment and the address the order is sent to), however this option should be set to "No" in cases of online stores selling virtual or digital products and services which do not require shipment details. Setting this to "No" will hide the shipping method and shipping address sections of the checkout process.
Available options: Yes, No

Split delivery cost - (Details to follow)

Delivery time difference for split delivery calculation - (Details to follow)

Delivery Rule (in week) - (Details to follow)

Security

SSL URL in Checkout - Sets whether the front end checkout process should be routed through a secure HTTPS link using SSL. By default, this option has been set to "No", however if sensitive information such as credit card details are being entered during the checkout process, it is recommended (and actually legally required) to set this option to "Yes" as an added layer of data security. This feature depends on the shop administrator having correctly set up the SSL security certificate on their site, as enabling this feature without the certificate in place will cause access issues during the checkout process. More information on this is available in the Security and Information Safety section.
Available options: Yes, No

SSL in Backend - Sets whether redSHOP's back end should be routed through a secure HTTPS link using SSL. By default, this option has been set to "No" as most shop administrators should have in place some security measures to protect access to the back end and store data. However, if sensitive information such as credit card details are being entered in the back end, it is recommended to set this option to "Yes" as an added layer of data security. This feature depends on the shop administrator having correctly set up the SSL security certificate on their site, as enabling this feature without the certificate in place will cause access issues. More information on this is available in the Security and Information Safety section.
Available options: Yes, No

Cart Reservation Message - The message that customers will receive when they attempt to add a product that's almost out of stock to the cart when the last one in stock has been "reserved" in another customer's cart. Essentially, this message is to inform the customer that the product they are attempting to add to cart is no longer available as another customer has taken the last piece.

Templates

One step Checkout - Sets whether customers will be using redSHOP's "One Step Checkout" to fill out and complete order details, as oppose to the standard checkout process that involves four steps (or screens) of details to fill out and complete. When set to "Yes", redSHOP uses the "One Step Checkout" template in the Template section to display the details required of the customer to complete prior to order confirmation; this feature can be attractive and preferable to customers as they can enter their details on one page, rather than over the course of four pages, which tends to discourage some customers from completing the checkout process.
Available options: Yes, No

Invoice Number Template - The template used when formatting invoice numbers for display in order details (both in front and back end) and invoices (both printed and digital / PDF). As each company has different ways of formatting invoice numbers as per company policy and record-keeping, this feature allows the shop administrator to format the invoice numbers generated to comply with the same standard. Any letters, number or non-numerical characters should be entered first, followed by a placeholder symbol for every digit that is to appear in the invoice number. Placeholder symbols for digits include the hash tag (#) and either lowercase or capital letter X (X, x). For example, entering INV-RW50-####### would generate an invoice number starting with "INV-RW50-" followed by 7 digits.

Ajax Cart Template - The default template used to display the AJAX Cart pop-up window within the product catalog on the front end. The shop administrator can select from a list of available "AJAX Cart Box" templates in the "Templates" section, while the specific content details are stored in the "AJAX Cart Details box" templates which must be called from within the AJAX Cart Box template selected. More information on category details is available in the "Templates" section.

This message is designed to inform the customer that the order has been successfully placed and thanking them for purchasing from the online store. The shop administrator can fashion this message as they see fit.

Newsletter

RedSHOP - Configuration Details - Newsletter tab.png

Newsletter Confirmation - Sets whether customers should receive an email containing a newsletter sign-up confirmation link that must be clicked on for verification before their email addresses will be added to the list of newsletter recipients.
Available options: Yes, No

Newsletter sender name - The name that will appear in the "From" section of the newsletter email that those on the newsletter mailing list will receive. This would normally be the same name as the "Shop Name", however the shop administrator can modify this to their preference.

Mail From - The email address that will appear in the "From" section of the newsletter email that those on the newsletter mailing list will receive. This would normally be the online store's main email account address that customers would reply to, however the shop administrator can modify this to their preference.

Default Newsletter - Selects the newsletter template that should be used as the "default template" when constructing and sending out newsletters. The shop administrator can select from a list of all available "Newsletter" templates in redSHOP's "Newsletters" section. More information on newsletter templates is available in redSHOP's Mail and Communications section.

Test mail - Designed to offer an idea of how the default newsletter will appear to recipients, this field allows the shop administrator to enter an email address that a sample newsletter can be sent to. This email address is not stored and has no effect on any other part of redSHOP; it is meant for the administrator to send a sample newsletter (using the "Test Newsletter" button below), based on the "Default Newsletter" template selected, to an email address of choice for visual inspection and verification purposes.

Test Newsletter - The button used to send a sample newsletter to the "Test mail" email address. This has no effect on any other part of redSHOP; it is meant only as a means for the shop administrator to visually inspect and verify the newsletter that newsletter subscribers will receive.

No. of Mails in Batch - The number of newsletter emails that should be sent out per batch when mass mailing newsletter subscribers. This setting is useful to shop administrators wanting to control the number of emails that can be sent at a time, as this number can vary based on server configurations and "outgoing mail" server settings. Setting a number too high can result the outgoing mail server getting overloaded and newsletter emails getting "blocked", so speaking with the site's hosting provider regarding the appropriate number to put in here would be advisable.

Pause Between Batches (in seconds) - The amount of time (in seconds) the outgoing mail server should wait between mass-mailing batches of newsletter subscribers. Together with the setting for "No. of Mails in Batch", this is designed to give the mail server ample time to send one batch successfully before sending the next one, reducing the load on the server and minimizing chances of newsletter mails being marked as "Spam", as some server configurations are set to mark certain mails as spam based on specific patterns of mail server behaviour. Once again, speaking with the site's hosting provider regarding the appropriate number to put in here would be advisable.

Integrations

This section covers configuration settings for services that redSHOP has native integration support for. These include analytics (Google Analytics), SMS notifications (Clickatell), shipping (Post Danmark) and accounting (e-conomic). The controls are grouped together into four sections accordingly: "Google Analytics", "Clickatell", "Post Danmark", and "e-conomic". (Note that while these are being offered at present, more planned integrations will appear in this section as redSHOP develops over time.)

RedSHOP - Configuration Details - Integration tab.png

Clickatell SMS Service - Sets whether the Clickatell SMS Service will be enabled and used by the online store. Clickatell is an online service that offers shop administrators various tools to interact with their customers, in redSHOP's case the ability to send out bulk mobile SMS messages with order status updates to customers who have placed orders in the online store. Setting this option to "Yes" will enable the use of the Clickatell SMS service, and requires that the relevant details be filled in by the shop administrator in order to access the Clickatell account from which SMS messages will be sent. When enabled, Clickatell will send order status updates by SMS to the phone number that the customer had entered during the registration / checkout process, therefore the customer must have provided this information for them to receive the SMS. More information about Clickatell and its services is available on the Clickatell website.
Available options: Yes, No

Post Danmark is the company responsible for the Danish postal service, and as such this feature is only practical for the Danish market. Setting this option to "Yes" will enable the sharing of shipping information with a Post Danmark account, and requires that the relevant details be filled in by the shop administrator in order to access the Post Danmark account which will be used. Enabling this feature will allow shop administrators to integrate the shipping details related to Danish customer orders with their Post Danmark account, which offers various additional services such as shipment tracking. More information about Post Danmark and its services is available on the Post Danmark website.
Available options: Yes, No

Post Danmark test mode - Sets whether the Post Danmark account used should be set to "test mode" or not. Enabling "test mode" indicates to the Post Danmark server that shipment details orders currently using Post Danmark as the shipping courier should be treated as "trial shipments", in order for the shop administrator to test and verify the connection that they expect between redSHOP and their account, therefore while in "test mode", Post Danmark will not consider the shipment details as "real". When test mode is disabled, however, shipment information received will be treated as pertaining to "real shipments".
Available options: Yes, No

Post Danmark customer Id - The customer ID (account ID) of the Post Danmark account that will be used to share and track shipping information.

The e-conomic service is available in more than 10 countries, including Denmark, Spain, Sweden, France and the United Kingdom. More information about e-conomic and the services is available on the e-conomic website.

Enabling this integration will result in a new "Accounting" section appearing on redSHOP's Main Menu and in the left-hand navigation panel, as well as a new "E-conomic accounting" button and link in each respective section.
Available options: Yes, No

About

This last section offers the shop administrator an information panel covering basic system / server configuration details as well as any redSHOP extensions installed and whether they're enabled or not. The information is categorized into four sections: "System Information", "redSHOP Modules", "redSHOP Shipping Plugins" and "redSHOP Payment Plugins".

RedSHOP - Configuration Details - About tab.png

System Information

This section of the "About" tab displays all the redSHOP-related modules, developed by the redSHOP Team, that have been installed on the site. Details regarding the modules installed are displayed in a table consisting of three columns with the following headers:

Web Server - The software versions that are installed on the current web server. Displays version numbers for Apache, mod_ssl, OpenSSL, PHP, mod_perl, and Perl.

PHP version - The version of PHP installed and configured on the current web server.

MYSQL Version - The version of MySQL installed and configured on the current web server.

GD Image Library - The version of the GD Image Library installed and configured on the current web server. (The GD Image Library is used to generate redSHOP's thumbnails.)

Multibyte string support - Shows whether support for Multibyte strings is enabled or not. This setting is controlled by the "Use Multibyte Encoding" setting within the Global Configuration's "General" tab.

Upload Limit - The maximum size, measured in MB, that files uploaded to the site / server can be. Files larger than the value for the "Upload Limit" will not be accepted / uploaded to the server. This value can be configured using the upload_max_filesize setting from within the "php.ini" file.

Memory Limit - The maximum amount of memory, measured in MB, that a script is allowed to allocate for processing purposes. This helps prevent poorly written scripts for eating up all available memory on a server; the higher the amount, the more memory can be allocated and therefore scripts will be running faster and smoother. This value can be configured using the memory_limit setting from within the "php.ini" file.

Open Remote Files (allow_url_fopen) - Shows whether the "allow_url_fopen" setting has been enabled or not. This feature allows PHP's file functions to retrieve data from remote locations such as an FTP server or web site by allowing URLs (like http:// or ftp://) to be treated as files, however this could lead to code injection vulnerabilities and therefore it is generally recommended to ensure this setting is disabled. You can configure the allow_url_fopen' setting from within the "php.ini" file on the server.

Execution Time - The maximum amount of time, measured in seconds, that a script or function is allowed to take when running. A value of 200, for example, will mean any script or function run within redSHOP must have completed its job within the span of 200 seconds (3m 20s), otherwise the administrator will be shown a white screen with a "Timeout" error message.
