How to import / export

Fields:
Separator – indicates the symbol or character that separates fields apart within the CSV file, so the right information goes into the relevant area of the database; traditionally the separators are marked with commas , but this can be modified if the file being imported has a different separator character
Text Qualifier – indicates the symbol or character that marks the start and end of blocks of text or HTML formatted content, so the complete content is imported into the database without running into parse errors and issues with uploads; traditionally the text qualifiers are marked with double quotes “ , but this can be modified if the file being imported has a different qualifier character
Overwrite blank fields – there are times when a product listed will have some information missing, or have certain information left blank intentionally; if the content of the CSV file will be writing over, or updating, existing product records in the redSHOP database, you can set whether those blank fields will be updated if there is any available information to import or if those updates will be ignored and any blank fields will be left blank (Yes, No)


Database section and CSV file selection – to import data to a specific section in redSHOP, select the radio button next to the name of the relevant section, then browse for the CSV file with the content that will be imported; you can import into nine different sections of redSHOP’s database:


Actions:
Import – after you have selected the type of information you are uploading into redSHOP’s database and the CSV file that contains the relevant data, click on the Import button

Database section and CSV file selection – to export data from a specific section in redSHOP, simply select the radio button next to the name of the relevant section and click on the “Export” button; you can export from eight different sections of redSHOP’s database:


Actions:
Export – generates a CSV file where the contents of the section selected are exported to
